Alan Dunn & Merseytrout present ‘Beefheart in Bury’

The Merseytrout performing in the Trout House Replica.

In 2017 artist Alan Dunn’s ‘Beefheart on the Beach’ saw a magic band playing to bemused Bank Holidayers in New Brighton. For this sequel, new musical combo Merseytrout zigzagged up the Mersey to deliver fast and bulbous sonic adornments in the house. 
With Captain Country Bud on lead vocals, Antenae Ray Badger and Zoot Horn Rogers on steel appendage guitar, Rockette Barlow on electric bass and Jimbo on drums ... if you got ears, you had to listen!

A mixed-tape cassette produced by Alan, ‘The Happening (C60)’ (54mins, 2021) was also included in the Vanda Chan Archive in the gallery.
